Phase 1 of the Dongguan Metro Line 1 officially begins trial operations on Friday, November 28, 2025. It has been nearly ten years since the opening of Line 2. This milestone marks Dongguan's departure from being a "single-line" city as it enters the era of metro network interchanges. The MetroMan App has been updated with the relevant data.

Line 1 operates from 6:30 to 22:30. The line spans approximately 57.5 km and includes 25 stations. It utilizes 6-car B-type trains with a maximum design speed of 120 km/h. Connecting ten towns and districts within the city, the line greatly enhances regional connectivity and allows for transfers with Line 2 at Civic Center (formerly Hongfu Road Station).
In the future, Line 1 is planned to extend west to Guangzhou Huangpu New Port to interchange with Guangzhou Metro Line 5, and south to connect with the Shenzhen Metro Line 6 Branch, further promoting connectivity within the Greater Bay Area.
