Starting at 10:18 AM on Sunday, December 28, Shenzhen Metro launches multiple lines simultaneously: Line 5 West Extension (Huangbeiling - Grand Theater), Line 8 Phase 3 (Xiaomeisha - Xichong), Line 11 Phase 2 Hongling South Section (Huaqiang South - Hongling South), and Line 13 Phase 1 North Section (Hi-Tech North - Shangwu) officially commence operations.
With the opening of these four new sections, the total length of the Shenzhen Metro network reaches approximately 622 kilometers, and the total number of stations increases to 421 (excluding Shenzhen Tram and Pingshan Sky Shuttle), further improving the city's rail transit network.
