On Friday, December 26 at 10:00 AM, Hefei Metro Line 6 officially commenced operations. Notably, the previously opened section of Line 4 between "Qinglonggang and Beiyanhu" has been officially integrated into Line 6 for through-operation.

Line 6 is an important east-west express line traversing from downtown Hefei to the Feidong area. Construction began on October 31, 2020. The line is approximately 34.4 kilometers long and is entirely underground. It consists of 22 stations (City Museum Station is temporarily deferred). It uses 6-car Type B trains with a maximum operating speed of 100 km/h.
With the addition of Line 6, the total operational mileage of the Hefei rail transit network has reached approximately 259 kilometers, comprising 7 lines and 201 stations (counting transfer stations repeatedly).
