DISCOVER THE CITY BY METRO
Through the old city, then towards the water town.
Pair Beisi Pagoda, Guanqian Street and Canglang Pavilion for an old-city outing, or give Tongli its own half-day plus onward travel.
One line. Many sides of the city.
Line 4 runs south through Suzhou Railway Station and the Renmin Road corridor, continuing through Wujiang to Tongli. The old-city sights and Tongli are far apart; split them into separate outings.

Explore the temple and garden surroundings of the old city's landmark pagoda.
From Beisita, head towards Bao’en Temple and the pagoda. Temple access and any tower access depend on current arrangements.

02Guanqian Street
Food and shops in the old city
Explore traditional shops, restaurants and the old city's lively commercial streets.
From Chayuanchang, head to Guanqian Street. Choose a restaurant or landmark first, as the area has several entrances.

03Canglang Pavilion
Garden views through patterned windows
Explore a classical garden that incorporates the surrounding water into its scenery.
From Sanyuanfang, head to the entrance on Canglangting Street. Nearby Keyuan is a separate garden visit.

04Tongli Ancient Town
Give the water town an unhurried half-day
Explore canals, stone bridges and historic homes, with Tuisi Garden as a highlight. Plan onward transport from the station.
Tongli metro station is outside the historic town centre. Plan an onward bus, taxi or other connection to the town entrance.
